Who We Are

Hello!
  • 2023 - HSL (hackerspace.live) Venture goes online.

  • HSL Venture progress.

    · HSL’s new online Linux instructional lab enables our academic advisory group to build innovative curricula beyond the campus walls and its stifling academic environment.

    · I brought in a hiring manager for a local Aerospace firm who has joined my AI group. He states that he has trouble hiring qualified technology specialists.

    · HSL hackerspace attracts a wide range of highly technical talent—from Gen Z builders to the stereotypical 30-year-old living at home seeking a breakthrough, to mid-career professionals like Johnny who are overqualified for their current roles and pivoting into AI.

    · This keeps the HSL coalition active while extending our reach to top talent capable of advancing Next Wave STEM and AI education.

    · HSL, a private company, would like to continue collaborating with IBM and Art. Art’s deep reach into education and IBM's corporate brand take the venture to a whole new level.

We believe our venture can serve as a model for the Pre-K through 16 pipeline to degrees and employment—and, should funding become available, HSL is uniquely positioned to deliver a critical component of Next Wave STEM and AI education.

  • 1995–2010s (Roots in "Rettke's Renegades"): Founded as an advocacy-focused student cohort, the group mentored marginalized and highly capable individuals—including non-traditional learners, at-risk youth, and individuals re-entering the workforce—and built a support network to help them gain practical tech skills.
